ETI Converting flexes its technological muscle into mid-web territory
NOVEMBER 2021 – ETI Converting Equipment has recently completed the installation of a Cohesio system at Label Craft, a renowned manufacturer with more than 50 years of label printing experience. Until now, ETI’s star technology was mostly targeting the narrow-web sector, but at the request of Label Craft, it has been reviewed and adapted to take into account the particular coating needs of mid-web producing.
The partnership between the two companies has been a flourishing one. ETI had already been mandated in the past by the Canadian label specialist, to help out in the late development process of a novel and sustainable adhesive product, equipped with a recycled—and recyclable—liner. ETI’s technological savvy, paired with its learned knowledge of materials was instrumental in bringing to fruition Label Craft’s concept, now patented under the name of Recyclable Enviroliner.
Facing a growing demand for its premium labeling products, Label Craft once again called upon ETI, this time to acquire equipment with 52-inch-wide reeling capacity. The engineers gather their thoughts and revisited the Cohesio system, adapting its various, in-line UV siliconing and emulsion adhesive units while enabling both direct and transfer coating.
ETI’s determiation, but also its shared abidance—with Label Craft—to sustainability principles have made this endeavour a success for both parties, all the while opening new opportunities for the implementation of its coating/converting solutions to larger web applications.
